Skikda University ranked second nationally, along with several other universities, estimated at 26 institutions, according to the latest Times Higher Education (THE) 2026 international rankings. It was ranked in the 1501+ category. Algeria ranked first in the Maghreb and second in Africa in terms of the number of ranked institutions, with 28 institutions.
