The UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in Basic Sciences.

 

This prize aims to recognize major achievements in the field of research, education and international cooperation in the field of fundamental sciences for sustainable development.

It is awarded each year to two winners for their achievements that promote socio-economic transformation and development on a global or regional scale, recognizing:

excellence in research in the basic sciences;
the teaching and popularization of fundamental sciences;
international or regional cooperation in the basic sciences.

The prize consists of an award of 250,000 United States dollars awarded to each of the two winners. Each winner will also receive a gold medal and a diploma.

All applications must be submitted online via a dedicated template available on the Application Procedure webpage, in English or French.
