In a significant step reflecting the university's openness to the international community and embodying its strategy to strengthen academic exchange, the University of August 20, 1955 Skikda welcomed the Ambassador of Vietnam to Algeria, Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh, and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

This visit provided an excellent platform for exchanging views on ways to develop cooperation between the University of Skikda and Vietnamese universities. Dr. Khaled Boujalal, Vice-Rector for Development and Foresight, gave a detailed presentation on the university's specializations and its efforts to support scientific advancement and its openness to international partnerships. The discussion focused particularly on exploring cooperation prospects in promising fields such as technology and science, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence technologies, which have become a central focus in scientific research.

As a culmination of this meeting, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and his accompanying delegation toured the university, gaining firsthand insight into its research and pedagogical capabilities. At the conclusion of his visit, the Ambassador expressed his profound admiration for the university's research and pedagogical potential, praising its high standards and emphasizing the importance of building bridges of cooperation and exchanging expertise between Algerian and Vietnamese academic institutions. For his part, the University Rector welcomed this initiative, affirming the institution's complete readiness to forge a genuine partnership that serves the aspirations of both parties in the fields of innovation and scientific research.
