On the morning of Sunday, October 8, 2023, the University of Skikda August 20, 1955, in the Grand Lecture Hall of Abdelhamid Mehri, hosted the activities of the first international forum on the journey and travelers between East and West, which lasts for two days, organized by the Faculty of Arts and Languages, the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, and in coordination with the Algerian Literary Heritage Laboratory (official and marginal).
The University Rector, Professor Boufendi Tawfiq, supervised the opening of the international forum, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, and President of the International Forum, Dr. Boukadoum Najwa.
In the presence of the following gentlemen: the deputy director in charge of pedagogy, the deans of the colleges, the coordinator of the medical attaché, and a large group of professors and students.
During the course of the forum, the conference included presenting workshops and presenting in-person and remote interventions by professors from various foreign countries (America, Nigeria, Cameroon, Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Kuwait, Tunisia, and Jordan), and the participation of professors from the University of Skikda in person and from various universities in the country through the lecturing technique. After the professors discussed in their interventions the characteristics of travel literature between the East and the West in terms of cultural patterns and the anthropology of travel, the image of the East in travel literature in the West, and the image of the West in travel literature in the East, they also discussed travel literature from paper writing to digital writing.
